Changing Default App in Android

It happens with everyone who uses Android. We use multiple applications or Apps to open or process various types of files. We have choice of Apps. But by mistake or due to  some reason we set a particular App by default to handle the task. It becomes really frustrating after that . We find ourselves stuck in some apps by default to open or process the files/tasks. Here is an easy method in Android to clear or remove any such setting/settings:

  Go to
Setting  >  ; Application manager  > All  > Choose the application you want to remove as default

Find the submenu: Launch by Default  > Clear Defaults
                        Clear Cache from Cache submenu

Now you are ready to choose your own choice of Default App or get an option every time to choose the App you want. Choice is yours.

SPEEDING UP BROADBAND CONNECTION

Here is a simple way to speed up your broadband connection including BSNL Dataone connection.
1. Check your phone cable. Ensure that it is directly coming to your modem. If it is urgent to split the connection for phone use, use a good quality Splitter for splitting up the connection for modem and phone. However, try to check the speed difference by first giving direct connection to the modem and again through the splitter. Based on the result you can decide how to connect your phone cable to the modem. I have tried it and improved my dataone speed by more than 800%. Here is my result-

.

2. It is advisable to use TCP Optimiser- a free software for optimum result. Experiment with various combination. Always take first back up before tweaking. Use the best combination according to your connection and computer configuration etc.
3. Test your speed at http://www.speedtest.net/ or at http://www.auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp for analysis.
Enjoy the best broadband speed......

Why do defragmentation?

One of the reasons of slow or unstable performance of your PC is cluttered hard disk. Defragmentation is a process that reduces the amount of fragmentation in file systems. It does this by physically reorganizing the contents of the disk to store the pieces of each file close together and contiguously. It also creates larger regions of free space. Some defragmenters also try to keep smaller files within a single directory together, as they are often accessed in sequence.

Defragmentation of the hard disk improves system performance, stability and speed. In windows you can right click the hard drive.
You can google and find free utilities to defragment or you can also right click your drive , go to Properties.. go to Tool ..and select and you will see the process of defragment.

Why your hard disk is full?

Hard disk is the area where all of your files are stored. But after some time, it comes to your notice that the hard disk is full. It may be due to various reasons- you actually have too much of multimedia files, some of the softwares may have made a hidden duplicate of your files,
or it may have created accidentally by you, etc. And you wonder why your hard disk is full? Or what directory is taking up most of the hard disk space? Your computer can respond slow when there is less space in its hard disk.
Get a tool which is free and easy to use to get rid of this problem. SequoiaView is a freeware that was developed by the computer science department of the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven to answer your queries regarding hard disk utilization.

SequoiaView uses a visualization technique called cushion tree maps to provide you with a single picture of the entire contents of your hard drive. You can use it to locate those large files that you haven't accessed in one year, or to quickly locate the largest picture files on your drive. You can also go directly to the directory by right clicking on the image of your drive. You can download the tool from its site http://w3.win.tue.nl/nl/onderzoek/onderzoek_informatica/visualization/sequoiaview/
